Wine Safari Tasting
A tasting room taken online, with shipping rules shown before the cart instead of at checkout.

Project overview
Wine Safari sold almost entirely at their tasting room. They wanted bottle sales and paid tasting reservations online without losing the character of the venue.
The challenge
Wine is region-restricted. Shoppers reached checkout before discovering their state or delivery date was unavailable — the most expensive place to lose a sale.
Tastings were booked by phone during opening hours, so evening and out-of-zone enquiries were simply lost.
What we changed
- Grouped the catalogue the way people shop: varietal, occasion and price band, with tasting notes and pairings on each product.
- Moved delivery eligibility to the top of the journey — the visitor sets a destination once and only sees what can ship there.
- Turned tastings into a bookable product with date, party size and deposit, synced to the venue calendar.
Conversion focus
- No shipping surprises at checkout, which is where most abandonment happened.
- Add-to-cart stays docked on mobile while the shopper reads tasting notes.
- A mixed-case builder gives repeat buyers a reason to raise basket size.
Why this structure
Removing a disqualifying surprise late in the journey is usually worth more than adding persuasion early in it.
