Independent concept study/Photography/Redesign Concept
Portrait & Editorial Studio
Photographers' sites often bury the work behind sliders and long about copy. This concept lets a single image carry the page.

Project overview
A concept study based on a pattern we see repeatedly in photography websites: heavy homepage sliders, thumbnails too small to judge quality, and pricing or availability hidden several clicks deep.
The challenge
Auto-rotating hero sliders move a photograph off screen before anyone has finished looking at it.
Grid thumbnails at 300px cannot demonstrate the thing the client is being asked to pay for.
Enquiry usually sits behind a generic contact page with no indication of session types or availability.
What we changed
- One full-bleed image, one line of caption, and navigation reduced to five words.
- Series pages rather than a single mixed gallery, so a prospective client can see consistency in a body of work.
- Session types with an indicative starting price placed directly beneath the work.
Conversion focus
- Enquiry form asks for date, location and session type — the three things needed to quote.
- No slider, so the strongest image is the one people actually see.
Why this structure
For a photographer the portfolio is the argument. Everything else on the page should get out of its way.
Website structure
- 01Home — one image
- 02Series
- 03About
- 04Prints
- 05Enquire
